Regional Commercial Manager (Middle East) SOHAR Port and Freezone

Anders Kron joined SOHAR Port and Freezone as Commercial Manager - Middle East in February 2013. He has over 12 years' worth of experience in the logistics and port related industry in the Middle East. Before joining SOHAR Port and Freezone, he was working with Jebel Ali Freezone in Dubai. As Commercial Manager – Middle East, he is responsible for the business development in the GCC region for the SOHAR Freezone. He is based out of the SOHAR Freezone Dubai representative office in UAE. SOHAR Port and Freezone is a joint venture between Port of Rotterdam and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman.

SOHAR Port and Freezone is managed as a 50:50 joint venture between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and Port of Rotterdam. Situated midway between Dubai and Muscat, SOHAR saw its first vessel berth in 2004 and the adjacent Freezone was added in 2010.
 
In 2019, close to 3,500 vessels called in SOHAR and the port now handles in excess of one million metric tons of sea cargo each week. With multinational investments to-date of over USD 27 billion, it is one of the world’s fastest growing port and free zone developments and lies at the center of global trade routes between Asia and Europe.
