Suha Abdulla Obaid began her career in shipping in 2009 as an operations executive and has worked hard to become the Deputy CEO of Folk Shipping LLC. She is a member of Dubai Business Women’s Council in the UAE and Ex-Com Member of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association. Her goal is to encourage millennials and generation Z to join the shipping industry. She believes that passion is key to achieving dreams and goals. Born and raised in Dubai, Obaid earned her bachelor’s degree at American University of Sharjah, UAE and holds an MBA degree with merit.

Folk Shipping LLC is the trading and shipping arm of the Folk Group. The company was established to address a market need for a company which provides shipping, chartering and bunkering while also trading in petroleum and chemical products. Established to service the oil and gas industry, the company deals with heavy fuel, light fuel, jet fuel and other chemicals as well. With a well-maintained and classified fleet of UAE flagged ships, Folk Shipping trades throughout the ports of UAE and the MENA region.
