Since February 2015, Reggy Vermeulen is the Chief Executive Officer of Port Duqm where he is striving to achieve the prime goal of landing Port of Duqm on the world map as “The preferred multi-purpose port of the region”. A customer oriented company managing and operating a world class deep-sea port integrated with an innovative logistic hub, unlocking the full potential of the Duqm special economic zone and supporting the diversification of Oman’s economy.
Since 2020, Reggy Vermeulen was appointed as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Sultanate of Oman in order to support and promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Prior to his current position Reggy was the Commercial Director of Port of Duqm for three years from April 2012 till January 2015.
Before joining Port of Duqm in April 2012. Reggy was the Chief Executive Officer of the Port and Industrial Zone of Haiphong in Vietnam as from Jan 2011. This location under his leadership has attracted over 1.5 billion dollars of investment and has been elected amongst the top 5 companies in Vietnam. Reggy has been awarded with the certificate of Merit from the city of Haiphong (Vietnam) for his outstanding contribution to the development of the city.
Reggy was also positioned in Nigeria as the Operational Manager for launching the port and industrial zone of “OK Free trade zone” next to Lagos. He started his carrier as a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting with a specialization in Supply chain optimization and companies restructuring.
He is also a management member in several board of directors and organizations connected to the Port of Duqm locally and internationally. A leader mentor in the Omani National CEO Program presented by the Royal Diwan. One of the top 100 most influential CEO’s in the Sultanate of Oman. Reggy is also a member pf the Young People Organization (YPO).
