Multimax Eyes European Markets

Singapore-based Bulk Carrier Already Active in GCC

Singapore-based dry bulk carrier Multimax Shipping is looking to transport more cargo to European markets, four years after establishing a base in Dubai.

“Multimax is already serving most of the countries in the GCC, and in the future will aim to increase its volumes,” said Shailendra Singh Chauhan, chartering manager for breakbulk, dry bulk, projects and heavy-lift at Multimax. “The plan is to expand towards European markets and transport goods to and from EU countries.”

Multimax Shipping operates more than 15 owned and chartered vessels, and focuses primarily on transporting bulk cargo such as coal, granites, aggregates, salt, steel, general cargo, specialised and project cargo.

The carrier launched its Dubai office in 2018.

“In a short span of three to four years, Multimax has become a well-recognized carrier in the region, and has delivered for major projects in the oil and gas, power and construction sectors,” the carrier said.

“The UAE being the geo-strategic location, more and more maritime-related companies are setting up their offices in the country and throughout the entire Gulf region. The market for breakbulk and bulk will continue to grow, and consequently the demand for ships and carrying capacity is set to rise.”
