The Middle East branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers was established in 1995. Originally formed as the Dubai branch covering the United Arab Emirates, its jurisdiction was later expanded to include the entire Middle East: UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, and Jordan, and was renamed the Middle East branch.
The Middle East Branch is one of the most active globally, with over 250 members working across various segments of the shipping industry. It holds a strong position among professional bodies in the region, organizing regular networking events, academic sessions, specialized training, and corporate programs.
The annual Student Awards Night in Dubai, attended by over 450 industry leaders and guests, is a key event in the Dubai Shipping Calendar. Dubai is one of the Institute’s largest examination centres, with additional centres in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar.
