Dr. Iman Nasseri

Managing Director – Middle East FGE Dubai

Dr Iman Nasseri, Managing Director - Middle East Research, is based in Dubai. He received his PhD in Economics in the United States, focusing on carbon markets and renewable energy economics, in 2013.

Iman is responsible for Middle East research; he also works closely with the refining team and has been involved with FGE’s Annual World Refining Outlook since 2014.

Since Jan 2018, as Managing Director of Middle East, Iman has been in charge of the FGE NexantECA's analysis and coverage of the Middle East for oil, gas/NGLs, power, and petrochemicals. He has led multiple research projects across Middle East for the region's NOCs, helping clients with strategic planning, market entry decisions, feasibility studies, and roadmaps.

Prior to focusing on the Middle East as his core focus, he worked with the gas/LNG team for years on several commercial and research projects and contributed to gas/LNG research across North America, Europe, and Middle East.
In 2021, Iman left the London office to head up FGE Dubai. The new office will allow us to better serve existing and future Middle Eastern clients.

Prior to joining FGE NexantECA in 2009, Iman worked for Iran’s Institute for International Energy Studies (IIES), the research arm of the Ministry of Petroleum, focusing on the policy making and planning for renewable and new energy technologies and energy market regulations.

Powering the Gulf: Oil, Gas & Nuclear in the Age of Energy Transition

As the Middle East balances upstream oil investment, LNG expansion, solar mega-projects and emerging nuclear options, the region’s unique energy mix is reshaping project cargo flows, particularly across offshore and marine supply chains. This session examines the practical realities behind the demand for transition – where oil and gas remain central, how renewables are scaling, and why nuclear small modular reactors (SMRs) are gaining traction for powering data centers and industry.
