Founder, Supramar Shipping & Chairperson, IMEAK Chamber of Shipping

Bahadir Tonguc (FICS), is a maritime professional with extensive experience in shipbroking and chartering, having begun his career within a family-run maritime business. Over the years, he has held senior roles as a shipbroker and chartering manager at prominent shipowning companies, gaining broad exposure across deep-sea dry bulk shipping and project cargo operations.

In 2007, he founded Supramar Shipping, a chartering-focused company that has grown into an internationally active organization with a strong presence in dry bulk, breakbulk, and industrial project cargo logistics. Under his leadership, Supramar has expanded its operations across multiple markets and regions, serving a diverse, global client base while maintaining a hands-on, broker-driven approach to chartering.

He holds a Master’s degree in Maritime Business Management and periodically serves as a guest lecturer at universities, contributing to maritime education and professional development.

Bahadir Tonguc is actively involved in industry institutions and professional bodies. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Shipbroking Committee at the Turkish Chamber of Shipping (IMEAK DTO) and is a member of the Executive Committee of FONASBA. He is also a founding member of the Turkish Shipbrokers Association (GBD), a Documentary Committee Member of BIMCO, and the Immediate Past President of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Turkiye Branch.
