Red Sea Gateway Terminal

Mr. Karim Omran is the Commercial Director of Red Sea Gateway Terminal, the largest terminal operating company in Saudi Arabia, and the operator of RSGT’s flagship facility at Jeddah Islamic Port. He has held this position since 2017, having worked previously in management roles with the Netherlands-based APM Terminals port and terminal operating division of Copenhagen-based Maersk, at the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) in Port Said, Egypt, beginning in 2009.

A native of Egypt, Mr. Omran earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, in Cairo. His further studies include advanced training in Management, Six Sigma, and Supply Chain Operations.

With the assistance of Mr. Omran as a member of the Management Team, RSGT has grown to become the largest terminal operating in Saudi Arabia, with an annual container throughput capacity of 6.6 million TEUs. The RSGT Jeddah facility is currently undergoing a $1.7 billion infrastructure investment and expansion program, in alignment with the ambitious goals of the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 program. In 2023, newly created RSGT Bangladesh was awarded a 22-year concession to operate the Patenga Container Terminal at Chittagong Port, making RSGT Saudi Arabia’s first international terminal operating company.
