Tanker Chartering Broker Nova Seas Shipbrokers DMCC

Sumeet Roy comes from a marine engineering background, having completed his B.S. in Marine Engineering from Tolani Maritime Institute (BITS Pilani) between 2006 and 2010. Sumeet began his career at sea with Northern Marine Management (STENA) as an Engine Cadet and Trainee Marine Engineer, before moving to Scorpio Tankers, where he worked from 2012 to 2024 and progressed from 4th Engineer to Chief Engineer, sailing primarily on tanker vessels.
 
Sumeet has completed all of his MEO exams through the Directorate General of Shipping in India. In 2024, he decided to move ashore and transition to the commercial side of the industry, and he is currently working as a Tanker Chartering Broker at Nova Seas Shipbrokers DMCC in Dubai.
 
Along the way, Sumeet completed the ICS Professional Qualifying Examinations in one attempt and became a Member (MICS) of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. He has also completed an Advanced Diploma in Ship Management and Logistics from the Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping, India.
 
With his experience split almost evenly between technical ship operations and chartering, Sumeet brings a practical, operational understanding into commercial discussions.
